    The District Magistrate of East Khasi Hills on Saturday notified an arrangement for opening of shops and shopping malls/complexes under Zone-III (Sadar PS area) dealing in both essential and non-essential items will open as per the schedule below w.e.f  9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

    For Standalone Shops:

    For Shopping Malls and Complexes having less than 20 (twenty) number of shops will open as per the arrangement below:

    For Shopping Malls and Complexes having more than 20 (twenty) number of shops, they will open at 30 % strength but a detailed plan of regulation is to be prepared by the Mall/ Market Committee/ Association concerned and submitted along with vaccination status of shopkeepers and staff,  inspected by the Incident Commander/ Magistrate  and approved by this office prior to opening.

    Arrangement for opening shops in Shillong and Rural Areas of East Khasi Hills

    Hawkers and vendors will be regulated and sit only in spaces earmarked by the Incident Commander, Zone-III (Sadar PS) and as per arrangement and regulation made. They shall clearly indicate their vaccination status.

    The Incident Commander, Zone-III (Sadar PS area) in consultation with the respective Headmen/CCMTs will regulate and ensure due compliance to protocols by all.

    Salons, spas, barber-shops, cyber-cafes, cinemas, gyms, clubs, teer counters, etc. will remain closed.

    Takeaway is permitted for tea shops, restaurants, sweet-shops and bakeries in a regulated manner on the zone-opening days. No dine-in is permitted and SOPs are to be stringently followed.

    All shops will place a prominent sign/poster indicating vaccination status of the shopkeepers and staff at the shop premises.

    Everyone should wear double-masks (3-ply plus cloth mask) or N-95 mask without fail.

    Social distancing of at least 2 metre should be strictly maintained by all.

    People are not permitted to loiter in the market area/shop without any valid reasons.

    Anyone found violating protocols will be liable for shop-closure or fined.

    There shall be no overcrowding in one area/shop and people should spend minimum time in the shop/market area.
