Shillong Raj Bhavan mourns the loss of Governor’s daughter
The officers and staff of Raj Bhavan held a condolence meeting on Friday at Raj Bhavan, Shillong to mourn the untimely demise of Suman Chauhan, daughter of the Governor of Meghalaya, Phagu Chauhan, who left for her heavenly abode today morning at AIIMS, New Delhi.
The proceedings were led by the Principal Secretary to the Governor, Harish Chandra Chaudhary, IFS in the presence of the Chief Electoral Officer, Dr. B. D. R. Tiwari, IAS.
A floral tribute and two minutes’ silence was observed for the departed soul.
Married to Gyanendra Singh Chauhan, (L) Smti Suman Chauhan, was undergoing treatment for cancer for last three months. Her last rites will be performed tomorrow at her native place Prayagraj (Allahabad), Uttar Pradesh.
She is survived by her husband, a son and a daughter.
