Shillong Premier League: Lajong beats Nangkiew Irat 2-1

Shillong Lajong FC secured a hard-fought 2-1 win against Nangkiew Irat in the Shillong Premier League 2023 clash at the SSA Stadium, First Ground, Polo on Wednesday.  

Mebannangkiew Thabah (25’) and Samchaphrang Lato (69’) scored for Lajong, while Prashant Chettri (84’) found the net for Nangkiew Irat. Despite Nangkiew’s late push for an equalizer, SLFC held on for the win.  

This victory propelled Lajong back to second place in the standings with 15 points, two ahead of Mawlai SC.  

Today marked the end of the scheduled 28 round-robin matches, with two postponed games yet to be played on Friday and Saturday.  Langsning FC will face Ryntih SC on Friday, followed by Mawlai versus Nangkiew Irat on Saturday, both matches kicking off at 3:15 pm.
