Shillong Premier League: Laitkor snatch 2-2 draw against Nongrim Hills

Nongrim Hills twice went ahead but were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw against Laitkor in a thrilling Shillong Premier League 2025 clash at the SSA Stadium, First Ground, Polo, on Saturday.
Banshemphang Kurbah (36’) and Isharwell Mukhim (49’) struck for Nongrim Hills, while Shanborlang Nongrum (45’) and substitute Sandy Kharkongor (90’+2) netted for Laitkor.
The result gave Nongrim Hills their first point of the season, though they remain bottom of the table after four matches. Laitkor, meanwhile, moved to sixth with 4 points but were left ruing dropped points once again, having lost their opener 1-0 to Malki.
Laitkor keeper Deranius Wahlang made sharp saves early on but could not stop Banshemphang’s thunderous strike for the opener. Just before the break, Shanborlang’s long-range left-footer levelled the scores following a corner.
Isharwell restored Nongrim Hills’ lead moments into the second half, sliding in to finish a low cross on the damp surface. Banshemphang almost doubled his tally in the 55th minute but was denied by the crossbar.
The game seemed to be heading Nongrim Hills’ way until stoppage time, when Sandy—only minutes after coming on—fought off Onyxson Buhroy in a tussle, stayed on his feet, and unleashed a powerful effort that beat Ebenson Warbah to rescue a point.
Nongrim Hills sit bottom with just 1 point from four outings, while Laitkor are level with Mylliem (4 points each) but hold the head-to-head advantage despite an inferior goal difference. Mylliem, however, still have a game in hand.
SPL 2025 action resumes Monday with Mawlai facing Malki at 4:30pm.
