Shillong Premier League: Himanshu, Ronaldkydon shine as Nangkiew Irat extend winning streak

A commanding display by Nangkiew Irat earned them a 5-1 victory over Sawmer in the Shillong Premier League 2025 at the SSA Stadium, First Ground, Polo, on Thursday.
Himanshu Patil (15’, 42’), Ronaldkydon L Nonglait (46’, 50’) and substitute Banshanlang Nongdhar (48’) were on target for the table-toppers, while Bisharlang Mawthoh (18’) netted Sawmer’s only goal.
The result marked Nangkiew Irat’s third straight win, taking them to 9 points and firmly in first place. Sawmer, stuck on 3 points, slipped from sixth to seventh with a goal difference of -6, worse than Malki’s -4.
The game began at a measured pace, with Nangkiew Irat looking the more assured. Himanshu broke the deadlock after racing onto a through ball and finishing past Pyrshangbanbha Dkhar. Sawmer replied quickly through Bisharlang, who capitalised on Rijied Sun’s persistence in midfield to score from close range.
Just before half time, however, Himanshu struck again—this time off a cross from Edyvenson Dhar—to restore Nangkiew Irat’s advantage.

The second half saw a whirlwind five minutes as Nangkiew Irat killed off the contest. Himanshu turned provider twice, delivering pinpoint crosses for Ronaldkydon to score a quick brace, while Banshanlang netted within minutes of coming on.
With the job done, Nangkiew Irat calmly controlled possession, denying Sawmer any way back. The latter managed a few long-range attempts, but goalkeeper Surjay Kumar Pariyar remained untroubled.
The next fixture will take place on August 29 at 4:30pm, featuring local giants Langsning and Mawlai, who are currently third and fourth in the standings.
