Shillong Premier League: Donlad scores treble as Langsning dominate Sawmer

Langsning cruised to a dominant 6-0 win over Sawmer in the Shillong Premier League 2025 at the SSA Stadium, First Ground, Polo, on Friday, thanks to a clinical hat-trick by Donlad Diengdoh (41′, 44′, 59′).
Nikelson Bina (13′ pen), Richie Kharbani (66′), and Medingroy Makdoh (89′) completed the scoring. Sawmer had a player sent off late in the second half, but by then, the damage was already done.
The scoring opened when Nikelson converted a penalty after Donlad was fouled inside the box by Sawmer’s Khrawkupar Tamu.
Nikelson then set up Donlad for the second, with the striker finishing from an awkward angle past goalkeeper Pyrshangbanbha Dkhar. Donlad struck again minutes later, capitalising on a poor back pass and expertly dribbling past defenders to make it 3-0 before halftime.
After the break, Donlad completed his hat-trick with a powerful header from a right-wing cross, becoming only the second player this season to score a treble, following Mylliem’s Alem Khongwir. Richie Kharbani added his first goal of SPL 2025 by heading in a Dajiedlang Wanshnong free-kick, and Medingroy Makdoh sealed the win with another header off a left-flank cross.
The victory lifts Langsning to second place in the standings with 7 points, level with Shillong Lajong but ahead on goal difference (+9 vs +7). Lajong, however, have a game in hand. Sawmer’s heavy defeat drops them to ninth and into the relegation zone, tied on points (3) with Laitkor and Malki but trailing on goal difference (-12 vs -1 and -7, respectively).
Tomorrow, Nongrim Hills will take on Laitkor at 4:30 pm.
