Shillong Bethany Hospital named Centre of Excellence in Infection Control

Bethany Hospital, Shillong has been designated as a Centre of Excellence for its outstanding work in infection prevention, control, and antimicrobial stewardship under the national-level iCOMPLY 2024 initiative. The recognition places the hospital among a select group of healthcare institutions in India committed to advancing patient safety and healthcare quality.

Organised by the Consortium for Accredited Healthcare Organisations (CAHO), iCOMPLY is a premier quality compliance programme focused on reducing hospital-acquired infections and promoting the rational use of antimicrobials. The initiative is supported by technical collaborators Amneal Pharmaceuticals and SafeCare Healthcare Standards.

In addition to the Centre of Excellence status, Bethany Hospital has also been conferred the Second Runner-Up (Bronze) Award for the East Zone, highlighting its adherence to national benchmarks in clinical excellence.

Speaking on the recognition, Dr. Kyntiewlang Sanmiet, Spokesperson of Bethany Hospital, said, “This recognition is a proud moment for Bethany Hospital and the entire community we serve. It reinforces our commitment to delivering safe, high-quality healthcare and inspires us to aim even higher.”
