Realizing of a upcoming controversy for the conduct of the summer session on Monday, which is the begining day of Behdeinkhlam, JHADC Chairman Dr Sankey Shangpung said the JHADC respect the sentiment of the Niamtre and all religious belief.

Dr Shangpung told reporters in hurriedly convened a press meet moments after the session on Monday, which was quite rare in JHADC.

Attempting to downplay the situation, Dr. Shangpung said that the session was convened after proper consultation with JHADC chief executive member Thombor Shiwat and the Secretary of JHADC as per laid down rules and regulations.

The first time MDC said that session was initially to be held on July 14 this year but they shifted to July 11 after they consulted the calendar of JHADC and Meghalaya Govt in respect of Behdienkhlam.

This statement categorically indicated MDC is not aware when the Behdienkhlam will be held when he could obtain the information by contacting the Dolloi of Elaka Jowai.

Again how can a session be held on Behdienkhlam when it is already declared as State holiday by the Meghalaya Govt for it is one of the State Festivals.

The JHADC Chairman said that they have to hold session every four months.

Notably, the JHADC held its budget session for two days from 15 March this year implying that the session could be held on the first week of July this year as it is almost four months.
