Security deployment sought after 260 tainted Govt teachers terminated

The curtain of the infamous white ink lower primary school government teachers’ scam has been drawn with the issuance of termination order to the 260 tainted teachers.

This came to light after an official letter signed by Ambrose Ch. Marak, Director of School Education & Literacy to the Deputy Commissioner, Shillong as per letter No.DSEL/EL/GA/MISC/11/2016/29 Dated Shillong the 30th June 2020.

The letter read that as per the directions of the High Court passed in the judgement order in Writ Petition No.52 of 2011 and connected appeals on 2 November 2017, related to the appointment to the post of Assistant Teacher in Government Elementary Schools and in compliance to the direction contained in the judgement of the Hon’ble High Court, the Office has issued termination orders to 260 tainted teachers on 29th June 2020.

Marak apprehended that t there is every likelihood of law and order problem in coming days in the premises of the Directorate of School Education & Literacy, Laitumkhrah and requested to kindly arrange and provide security at the office premises.

Accordingly, the Deputy Commissioner has deputed Executive Magistrate for law and order duty in the office premise and also requested the Superintendent of Police, Shillong to depute adequate police force.
