SDRF, F&ES recover youth’s body in East Khasi Hills

The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), in a joint operation with the Search & Rescue Team (SRT) of the Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES), on September 1 recovered the body of a youth who was swept away by currents in the Weiniangriang River in Mawtap village, Sohiong, East Khasi Hills district.

Activated by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) East Khasi Hills, the SDRF pressed into action early in the morning.

The body of the boy was recovered in the afternoon and handed over to the police.
