  • Sanbor Shullai lays foundation stone for two water projects

    BJP legislator from South Shillong, Sanbor Shullai on Saturday laid foundation stones for the implementation of two additional water supply schemes. 

    The Additional Water Supply for Wahjalynnoh Water Source up to Oxford Hill, Dunoon Compound, Rilbong & Adjoining Areas is sanctioned under PHE Water Supply State Scheme at Rs 1.3 crore and the Additional Water Supply from Wahjalynnoh Water Source to Oxford Hills, Kenchs Trace, Rilbong & adjoining areas is sanctioned Under AMRUT at Rs 1.19 crore respectively.

    Addressing on the occasion, Shullai assured that the implementation of the project will start without any delay. He said that he wanted this project to be completed at the earliest so that will be a big blessing for the people. 

    He also lauded the efforts put on by the official of the PHE department and Shillong Municipal Board and the active participation by the Dorbar Shnong of Kenchs Trace, Oxford & Rilbong and the Land Owners who have given their land free of cost. 

    The  MLA also expressed his gratefulness to the Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma, Urban Affairs Minister, Hamletson Dohling and the PHE Minister, Samlin Malngiang for their support to ensure the people are benefited from these schemes.

    Earlier, Shullai informed that the implementation of the water supply project will address the problem related to the shortage of the water supply in these areas. He said that the project will cover around 1000 households.
