    The Saipung Police Station has been declared as fit for re-occupation following closure from July 12.

    The Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District on the recommendation of the District Medical and Health Officer has issued an order on Tuesday that Saipung Police Station can be reopened after no new COVID-19 cases detected.

    The Deputy Commissioner said “The staffs working in the Office of the Saipung Police Station should not be from those of the contacts of the positive COVID-19 cases.

    Social distancing must be strictly followed and adhered to by all, washing of hands with soap and water or hand sanitizers should be followed accordingly by all and spitting in/ outside the offices is strictly prohibited.”

    The Deputy Commissioner further stated that sharing of betel nut (kwai), tobacco products and eatables is strictly prohibited and shaking of hands or physical contact should be avoided by everyone.
