  • Rs 70.65 crore yet to be recovered from petrol, diesel retail outlets

    Minister in-charge of Taxation, James K Sangma has informed that Rs 70.65 crore is pending for recovery from the petrol and diesel retail outlets in the state. 

    Replying in the Assembly on Monday, Sangma said that the dues have been pending during 2017-18, 2018-19, 2019-20 and 2020-21. 

    Of Rs 70.65 crore, he sad Rs 29.24 crore was pending during 2017-18, Rs 8.49 crore in 2018-19, Rs 12.71 crore in 2019 and 20.21 crore in 2020-21. 

    Raising his supplementary query, Congress legislator from Umroi George B Lyngdoh requested the state government to conduct inspection in view that most of the retailers do not give their actual returns as per audit reports.
