    Home Minister Lahkhmen Rymbui laid the foundation stone for the construction of Amlarem- Pdengshakap- Muktapur road amounting to Rs.22,12, 50,000 at Pdengkshap on Tuesday.

    The programme was attended by B.W Phira, Superintendent Engineer, PWD (Roads), Jowai Circle and R.D. Pakyntein, Executive Engineer, PWD (Roads), South Jowai Division.

    The sanctioned amount will cover widening, improvement, metalling, blacktopping and construction of Major and Minor Bridge of Amlarem –Pdengshakap-Muktapur Road of Length 14.60km under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund”

    Home Minister also inaugurated the Pdengshakap -Trangblang Road and Pdenshakap internal road of an amount of Rs.6 crore approximately.

    The Pdengshakap- Trangblang Road covers a total length of 4.60 Km at Rs.3.79 crore and that of Pdengshakap Internal Road consists a total length of 2.90 Km at Rs.2.21 crores which fall under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund-XXVII.

    He apprised about the already completed road projects namely the Muktapur- Borghat Road of length 6.30 Km at an amount of Rs.3.50 crore, Pdengshakap –Jongushen Road of length 7.9 km at an amount of Rs.5.65 crore and the Syndai – Umsohtai Road of length 5.10 Km at an amount of 2.8 crore which are under the PMGSY.

    He also informed that Rs. 150 crore has been allotted to the State for road construction under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund out of which 7 crores approximately is sanctioned for Dawki -Muktapur- Umsku road of length 10 Km.

    Amount sanction for road construction under War East 56.4 km at Rs. 49.575 crores
