The nationwide Rozgar Mela, an initiative facilitating recruitments across various Ministries and Departments of the Central Government, was held at NEIGRIHMS in Shillong on December 23. As part of this initiative, over 124 appointment letters were handed to newly appointed recruits from Meghalaya.

Minister of State for Rural Development, Kamlesh Paswan, attended as the chief guest and congratulated the appointees for their dedication and hard work.

In his address, Paswan said, “I know how much hard work and dedication it takes to prepare for and secure a job. There is no greater joy than receiving the appointment letter after such efforts.” He lauded the Prime Minister’s vision for Atmanirbhar Bharat and highlighted significant progress in infrastructure development, particularly in the North-East. “In the last 10 years, the Hon’ble Prime Minister has transformed India through initiatives like Make in India, Start-up India, Digital India, and others. In every sector, including rail, road, and infrastructure, the North-East has received special attention and care,” he noted.

Reflecting on Shillong’s unique charm, Paswan remarked, “Since arriving here, I have been captivated by how vibrant this state is. I believe Shillong will continue to shine and flourish in the future.” He extended Christmas wishes to all present and acknowledged the efforts of the CRPF and other departments.

Inspector General (Northeastern Sector) Danesh Rana, in his welcome address, stated that the Rozgar Mela was being held at 45 locations across the country under the leadership of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, with the CRPF facilitating the programme in Meghalaya. “Today, 124 appointees in Meghalaya will receive their appointment letters across organisations like BSF, CRPF, Assam Rifles, Railways, SBI, and ITBP,” he added. Highlighting the critical role of security forces, Rana remarked, “CRPF, BSF, and Assam Rifles are working together to maintain law and order, counter insurgency, and safeguard borders. Together, these organisations sustain peace and contribute to national security.”

The programme also featured testimonies from appointees who shared their journeys and expressed gratitude for the opportunities provided by the government.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the gathering via video conferencing, distributing over 71,000 appointment letters to newly appointed recruits nationwide, reaffirming the government’s commitment to employment generation and nation-building.
