Royal Global University launches full and partial scholarships for wards of Assam Police personnel

In a move to honour the service and sacrifices of the Assam Police, the Assam Royal Global University (RGU) has announced two dedicated academic scholarships for the dependents of police personnel. The university stated that the scholarships are aimed at promoting quality access to higher education for children of those serving in the force.
According to Prof. (Dr.) D. N. Singh, Registrar (Academic) of RGU, the newly launched scholarships include ‘Royal Shaurya’ and ‘Royal Suraksha’. The ‘Royal Shaurya’ scholarship offers 100 per cent tuition support to families of police martyrs and gallantry award winners, while the ‘Royal Suraksha’ scholarship provides 50 per cent tuition assistance to the wards of serving Assam Police personnel.
Dr. Singh added that these scholarships are applicable for admissions to academic programmes regulated by statutory bodies such as the AICTE, COA, PCI, INC, ANMHVC, BCI, and similar councils.
RGU has been offering a wide range of scholarships since its inception to promote academic excellence and social inclusion. Utpal Kanta, Director of Growth and Strategy at RGU, highlighted several other existing scholarship programmes available to students.

Among them is the Royal Merit On Admission Scholarship, which grants a full waiver of annual, admission, and registration fees to meritorious students. The university also offers a 100 per cent Royal Scholarship to students from economically weaker sections.
The Royal Endowment Scholarship extends financial aid across all academic programmes. Eligible categories include students involved in sports, music, or fine arts; differently-abled students; children or grandchildren of Padma Awardees or recipients of the Assam Baibhav, Saurav, and Gaurav awards; students raised by single mothers; and students from families with an annual income of less than Rs 8 lakh.
The university also provides the RGU Sports Scholarship, which supports athletes with financial aid and structured mentorship. Based on their level of representation—international, national, state, or district—scholarships of 100, 80, 70, 50, and 40 per cent are awarded in sports and games recognized by the Indian Olympic Association.
To encourage academic consistency, RGU offers a Monthly Scholarship for Semester Toppers. Students demonstrating outstanding academic performance across departments receive a monthly award of Rs 3,000 throughout their semester.
With these new and existing scholarship schemes, the Assam Royal Global University seeks to expand access to higher education and recognize the contributions of students from diverse backgrounds, especially those connected to public service.
