Royal Global University launches full and partial scholarships for children of Northeast police personnel

Assam Royal Global University (RGU) has introduced two new categories of academic scholarships exclusively for the children of police personnel from all eight northeastern states. The initiative is aimed at honouring the service and sacrifices of police forces while promoting access to quality higher education.
According to RGU’s Registrar (Academic), Prof. (Dr.) D. N. Singh, the newly announced ‘Royal Shaurya’ scholarship, will offer a full 100 per cent tuition waiver to families of police martyrs and gallantry award recipients. The second, named ‘Royal Suraksha,’ will provide 50 per cent tuition support to wards of serving police personnel across the Northeast. These scholarships apply to academic programmes regulated by statutory bodies such as AICTE, COA, PCI, INC, ANMHVC, BCI, and similar institutions.
Prof. Singh said the university has consistently supported students from various backgrounds through a wide range of scholarship schemes. Among them is the Royal Merit On Admission Scholarship, which provides a complete waiver of annual, admission, and registration fees to academically outstanding students at the time of entry.
In addition, RGU offers the Royal Scholarship for students from economically weaker sections, the Royal Endowment Scholarship, the RGU Sports Scholarship, and monthly scholarships for semester toppers. The Royal Endowment Scholarship covers students with achievements in sports, music, and fine arts; differently-abled students; children and grandchildren of Padma Awardees and recipients of Assam Baibhav, Saurav, and Gaurav honours; children of single mothers; and students from families earning less than ₹8 lakh annually.
The RGU Sports Scholarship awards financial assistance based on levels of achievement in sports recognised by the Indian Olympic Association. Depending on their performance, students may receive scholarships covering 100, 80, 70, 50, or 40 per cent of their tuition, and the programme includes access to coaching and mentorship.
With these merit-based and inclusive financial aid programmes, Assam Royal Global University aims to foster an equitable academic environment and empower students from service families and marginalised communities across the region.
