Congress leader and sitting legislator of Mylliem Ronnie V Lyngdoh on Friday accused the Voice of the People Party (VPP) candidate from Mylliem Aibandaplin Lyngdoh Nonglait for misleading the people by claiming that she studied Theology when she is only class XII passed as per her affidavit.

“We have gone through the affidavit and we found that Aibandaplin Lyngdoh Nonglait has misled the people by claiming that she studied Theology but whereas in her affidavit she is just a class XII passed,” Lyngdoh told reporters.

“This shows the extent she can go to exploit the sentiments of the people. The affidavit that she filed when she contested the 2023 MLA elections indicated that she is only XII passed. Nowhere it was mentioned that she studied Theology. If she can lie to the people before even winning an election, I don’t know what is capable of after winning,” he said.

Lyngdoh has decided not to contest the upcoming KHADC polls.
