Rocks blocked Shillong Dawki Road

Due to incessant rainfall in the state of Meghalaya, a portion of the NH-40 Shillong Dawki road under expansion was damaged leading to the collapsed of rocks blocking the roads.

The NH-40 Shillong-Dawki road is totally cut off at a place above Siatbakon village. One Maruti Alto ML05N 6426 is trampled by the rocks in the road.

The persons were evacuated from the vehicle.

Any vehicle going to Dawki side may be advised to take Pongtung-Lyngkhat road. Venture/travelling during the night may be avoided except extreme Emergency. There is chance of landslide due to heavy rainfall especially those new cut areas.
