Ri Bhoi celebrates 33rd Foundation Day with grand ceremony in Nongpoh

A grand celebration marking the 33rd Ribhoi Foundation Day was held today at St. Paul Secondary School, Nongpoh, organized by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi District.

The event was graced by Nongpoh MLA Mayralborn Syiem and Jirang MLA Sosthenes Sohtun, along with the local MDC and officers from the District Administration. Their presence added significance to the occasion, which brought together the community to reflect on the district’s journey and achievements since its formation.

The programme featured vibrant cultural performances, a historical walkthrough of Ri Bhoi’s milestones, and a rendition of the Ribhoi Anthem. A pledge ceremony was also held, invoking a shared commitment to the district’s progress.

Speakers at the event paid tribute to the vision and dedication of elders and leaders who were instrumental in securing district status for Ri Bhoi. They also urged students attending the celebration to work with dedication and integrity for the betterment of the district, the state, and the nation.
