RGU hosts intensive week-long faculty programme on integrating Indigenous Knowledge in NEP 2020 framework

Royal Global University (RGU) concluded a week-long Faculty Development Programme (FDP) from June 23 to 28, aimed at reimagining education through the lens of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The event, themed “Reimagining Education through NEP 2020: Multidisciplinarity, Innovation, and Integration of Indigenous Knowledge Systems (IKS)”, was organized by the Indian Knowledge Systems Cell in collaboration with RGU’s Royal Centre for Human Resource Development and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell.
The programme featured 24 technical sessions and brought together a wide range of scholars and experts from across India. The objective was to explore innovative ways to embed Indigenous Knowledge Systems into modern academic practices, promoting a more holistic and inclusive educational approach aligned with NEP 2020.
Notable external resource persons included Prof. Joy Sen, IIT Kharagpur; Dr. Neha Satam-Rane, IKS Division, Ministry of Education; Dr. Hirak Ranjan Das, Innovation Cell, AICTE; Rajib Lochan Pathak, Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship; Vinay Kumar, Ministry of Science & Technology; Prof. Anil Pratap Giri, University of Allahabad; Prof. Ankur Ganguly, Amity Institute, Kolkata; Dr. Ankur Joshi, Banasthali Vidyapith; Satyam Tiwari, IKSMHA Centre, IIT Mandi; Dr. Dhurjjati Sarma, Gauhati University and Dr. Mridusmita Mahanta, Sonapur College.
Prominent RGU faculty and coordinators who contributed as resource persons included Prof. Amar Jyoti Choudhury, Prof. Surajit C. Mukhopadhyay, Prof. Sheila Bora, Prof. Pradip Jyoti Mahanta, Prof. George A.P., Prof. Amlan Das, Dr. Debajit Bora, Dr. Stuti Goswami, Dr. Aruna Dev Roy, Dr. Annu Kumari, Dr. Hirak Jyoti Hazarika, and Dr. Saswati Bordoloi.

The valedictory session was chaired by Dr. Diganta Munshi, Director IQAC & Registrar Admin, along with Prof. George A.P. and Prof. Amlan Das. The event marked a significant step toward reshaping higher education through multidisciplinary collaboration and the integration of India’s rich traditional knowledge systems.
