    East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem on Monday informed that  restriction of the plying of vehicles through Umshyrpi bridge due to construction work, has been extended for another 3 days with effect from June 16 to 18, from 10pm till 5 am of the next day.

    The diversions routes are as follows: vehicles proceediing from Upper Shillong towards Umshyrpi bridge – MES point will be diverted at 5th Mile, Upper Shillong towards Pomlakrai – Laitkor – Madanrting – Laitumkhrah and beyond.

    Vehicles proceeding from Lumdiengjri area/ Old Cherra towards Upper Shillong via Umshyrpi bridge will have to take the route from Laitumkhrah – Madanrting – Laitkor – Pomlakrai – 5th Mile, Upper Shillong and beyond.

    However, emergency service vehicles will be allowed to play and be facilitated, the SP said adding that inconvenience caused in this regard is highly regretted.
