  • Restriction lifted for 2 days in East Jaintia Hills District

    The District Magistrate, East Jaintia Hills District, E Kharmalki on Monday has lifted the lockdown restrictions imposed in the the entire district for two days on May 11 and May 14.

    In his order, Kharmaliki said that 50% of only essential shops as regulated alternately in all localities shall be opened from 8 AM to 3 PM.

    “At Sookilo, Umkiang, Jalaphet and Nongjri Areas all shops shall remain closed till further orders,” the order said.

    1. At Khliehriat/Umpleng Area
    50% of Essential shops shall be opened on alternate basis as regulated by the Durbar Chnong/Market Committee.

    2. At Ladrymbai Area
    i. Only Ladrymbai Dongwah and Ladrymbai B shall open on 11.05.2021.

    ii. Only Ladrymbai Khliehdupon and Ladrymbai Datsimpien shall opened on 14.05 .2021.

    50 % of Essential shops shall be opened on alternate basis as regulated by the Durbar Chnong/Market Committee.

    1. Transit movement of persons from Assam/Tripura/Manipur/Mizoram shall be allowed. However, movement of person and vehicles within the District is restricted except for medical purpose, essential services and vaccination.

    2. Government offices in the District shall function with limited staff not exceeding 30% strength for Group ‘B’, Group ‘C’ and Group ‘D’ staffs.

    3. In-situ Construction works that does not involve movement of labour is permited.

    4. Banks and post offices are permitted to open with limited staff.

    5. Only authorised home delivery services of essential goods is allowed with strict observance of the given protocols /advisories.

    6. Roadsides dhabas/Tea shops services are permitted only take away services.

    7. Hardware shops and electrical shops are allowed to open a s regulated by the local Durbar Chnong.

    Any violation and non-compliance to SOPs will make the establishment liable for closure.
