    In a long-awaited verdict, the Court of N.A. Khan, MHJS, Sessions Judge, West Jaintia Hills District, has convicted Ram Dhar to life imprisonment for a brutal murder that occurred nine years ago.

    The Superintendent of West Jaintia Hills District confirmed the judgement, stating that justice has finally prevailed.

    The case dates back to February 11, 2015, when Ram Dhar allegedly committed the heinous act of murdering Trebor Hinge in Nongbah village. Registered under Jowai PS Case No. 22(2)15 U/S 302 IPC, the case underwent diligent investigation and charging by SI S. Pariat.

    After a thorough trial process, the court found Ram Dhar guilty of culpable homicide amounting to murder under Section 302 IPC. He was sentenced to life imprisonment and fined Rs. 5000/-. Additionally, the court recommended a compensation of Rs. 3,00,000 (Rupees Three Lakh) to be awarded to the victim’s family.
