Raliang Police Outpost upgraded to full-fledged station

Raliang Police Outpost has been upgraded to a full-fledged Raliang Police Station by Comingone Ymbon, Minister of Civil Defence & Home Guards on Tuesday.

The event was attended by C Syrti, MPS Superintendent of Police for West Jaintia Hills, village representatives and dignitaries.

Ymbon emphasized that the upgradation was not due to the rise of crime, but to bring administration closer to the people. This eliminates the need for residents to visit Jowai for police matters. He also mentioned the need for more space at the current police station and appealed to the durbar chnong for assistance in acquiring additional land.
