In an unexpected turn of events, Dolly Khonglah, a prominent lady exporter from Jaintia Hills region and resident of Amlarem AC on Wednesday demanded resignation of Meghalaya Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui for failing to release the salary of SSA teachers pending for five months.

This came after the statement of the minister on Wednesday that the state government will be left with no option but to take drastic action against the school managing committees (SMCs) if the SSA teachers continue to protest in the streets by depriving students of their rights to education.
