    The Meghalaya Government is providing gratuitous relief in the form of one time ex-gratia of COVID-19 victims’ with effect from 2020.

    According to press release issued by the Deputy Commissioner, Shillong, one time ex-gratia payment of Rs. 50,000/- per deceased person will be paid to the family/next of kin. The concerned families who wish to claim the benefit are to submit their claims through a form issued by the District Disaster Management Authority/Relief Rehabilitation Branch, East Khasi Hills District along with other documents.

    • Death certificate from competent authority that certifies the cause of death be COVID-19
    • Bank details.

    Family/next of kin of people who have lost their lives due to COVID-19 in East Khasi Hills District may thereafter approach the office of their respective BDO’s/Incident Commanders of the Office of the Deputy Commissioner East Khasi Hills (Relief & Rehabilitation) for claiming of Ex-Gratia payment.

    The form for claiming the payment can be downloaded from the website of eastkhasihills.gov.in or obtained from the Office of the Denuty Commissioner/Office of the concerned BDO, East Khasi Hills District.
