Meghalaya Governor, Satya Pal Malik visited Nongpoh, Ri Bhoi District today and had a review with the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police and other District officials on PM and Centrally Sponsored Schemes as well as law and order.

The Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi District, RM Kurbah gave a presentation on all PM and Central Schemes being implemented in the district. She listed out the successes and challenges of all the schemes and highlighted achievements of the district especially in the field of education and agriculture in which Ri Bhoi District has fared well.

She also listed out problems and difficulties faced by the district with regard to poor road condition, recurrent power outages, poor mobile and internet connectivity and inter-state border issues.

The Governor applauded the efforts of the district and asserted that since Ri Bhoi District is an aspirational district it deserves special focus of the State and Central Government.  He assured that he would take up at his level also with Government of India on issues faced by the district.
