    The Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District informs the general public  that in view of the prevailing of Covid-19 pandemic in the country, there have been cases where imposters/frauds imposed themselves as Religious heads/ Leaders expressing their willingness to financially help any religious groups/ establishment/ NGO’s etc. working for the relief of Covid-19 victims or cyclones victims but instead of helping the imposter/ online frauds, trick such religious groups/ establishments/ NGO’s  by siphoning extracting money from them. 

    Therefore, all public are warned to verify any persons whom they are sending online for relief works etc. Police verification of such persons should also be obtained as precautionary measures from the Superintendent of Police and Officer- In – Charge concerned.
