Police takes action against coke truck

A truck loaded with coke fell into a gorge at Lad Lummawbah on Monday morning.

The truck (AS26 C 5873) driven by Amidul Islam of Bishinpara, Khanapara was proceeding from Shallang West Khasi Hills towards Guwahati when it went off the road and fell into a gorge at Lad Lummawbah, police said.

A suo moto FIR was lodged at Lumdiengjri police station. Later, the driver surrendered at the Lumdiengjri Traffic Branch and accordingly legal action has been taken up, they said.
