“In fact right now the police are on the look out. They have identified a few people and they are searching for them. We will see and we will update you as soon but as per law we will move forward and whoever is responsible will be brought to justice,” Sangma told reporters.

Asked, the CM said, “We are moving very aggressively and we have already identified individuals. I don’t want to name or tell the numbers but we have already identified and we are moving forward.”

On Wednesday, two persons were allegedly beaten to death by miscreants at Ichamati. They have been identified as (L) Esan Singh and (L) Sujit Dutta. Both are labourers working in limestone quarries. Their bodies were found at Ichamati and Dalda respectively.

Police are investigating the allegations that the incident had taken place during an anti CAA protest in the area.
