    Meghalaya Police has arrested 18 persons involved at the violent incident in the CM’s office Tura, West Garo Hills District on the intervening night of Monday/Tuesday.

    Five police men including one SOT personnel were injured due to stone pelting from a mob of angry people outside CM’s office, Tura and three vehicles were reportedly burnt by the mob compelling the District Administration West Garo Hills District to impose night curfew from 9 pm to 5 am in Tura Town.

    Appealing for public cooperation, Police said, “If you find any miscreant responsible for causing violence today which has brought such a shame to our beautiful Garo Hills, inform us immediately, make a public arrest and handover to the nearest police station.”

    Police said they have already arrested 18 miscreants and a massive manhunt is going on to arrest others.

    Police warned that they will spare none and there won’t be any compromise with safety and security of general public.
