  • Police cracks down on 408 vehicles using tinted films in Shillong

    The Shillong Traffic Police (STP) has detected 408 numbers of vehicles from 14th July to 1st August, 2024 who are using unauthorised black/tinted films on their vehicles and action has been taken accordingly against the violators as per the provisions of MV Act.

    “All motorists are requested to refrain from using black films on their vehicles as it violates the direction of the Supreme Court of India passed vide WP (C) No. 265 of 2011 prohibiting using of black films of any percentage on the windshield and side glasses of the vehicle” said Superintendent of Police East Khasi Hills.

    The SP said that strict action will be taken against the violators as per law.
