  • POCSO court awards 20 years jail term to man for raping minor

    The Morigaon Pocso Court sentenced a man to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 for raping a minor girl in Morigaon district.

    The guilty person has been identified as Biren Bora, son of Hagubar Bora under Mikirbheta police station in Morigaoan district.

    He was found guilty in connection with the Mikirbheta police station case number 194/2024 under section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), 2012.

    He has to pay Rs 10,000 as a fine filing which he has to spend three more months in jail.

    Based on the chargesheet filed by the police, the additional district and session judge of Morigaon (also special judge POCSO), NA Ahmed passed the judgement on Thursday.
