PIMC’s founding batch pulls off historic first fest, blends medicine with music, art, and sport

Celesta 25, the first-ever college fest of PA Sangma International Medical College (PIMC), marked a bold and vibrant debut from May 29 to 31 at the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM). Spearheaded entirely by PIMC’s founding batch, the three-day event energized the campus with a mix of academic challenges, cultural performances, sports, and art—setting a new tone for student life at the college.
The official opening on May 30 was inaugurated by USTM Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque and attended by dignitaries including Pro Vice-Chancellor Padmashree Dr. Sarbeswar Saharia, PIMC Principal Dr. Abhinandan Das, Staff President Dr. Rajendra Kr. Baruah, and Dr. Jogesh Sharma, Director of Health Education & Research.
The ceremony began with the unveiling of a collaborative Wall Magazine, showcasing student-created art and design, followed by a series of inspiring speeches from leadership and faculty.

What set Celesta 25 apart was its student-driven spirit. From planning to execution, PIMC’s pioneering class took full charge, proving their mettle not only in medicine but also in leadership, creativity, and community building.
The fest featured academic sessions in Physiology and Anatomy, alongside art and literary competitions—face painting, sketching, painting, debates, recitations, and more. Music, dance, and song performances revealed the cultural pulse of a new generation of medicos.
Meanwhile, the USTM Sports Arena came alive with student-run games, basketball tournaments, and a Rangoli competition that brought colour and cultural flair to the week.

The event concluded on May 31 with a celebratory closing ceremony. Winners were announced, memories were made, and Celesta 25 officially established itself as the beginning of a proud tradition at PIMC.
