    The Session Court of West Jaintia Hills District has convicted Se Phawa for the rape of one female in 2008 and sentenced him to eight years of rigorous imprisonment.

    The Court also imposed a fine of Rs. 5000/- (Rupees Five thousand) and in default payment of fine, Phawa will further undergo simple imprisonment of 1 (one) month.

    The judgement was passed by the Court on Monday this week.

    The Court viewed that as per record that Phawa suffered detention for 1 (one) year 4(four) months hence the period of detention of 1 (one) year 4(four) months is set off.

    The Court ruled that Phawa shall undergo 6 (six) years, 8 (eight) months and in default payment of fine, the prisoner will further undergo simple imprisonment of 1 (one) month.
