SHILLONG: A single bench of the Meghalaya High Court has ordered listing a petition filed against the alleged coal racket in the state before the division bench.

The petition was filed by one Abhijit Basumatary, who earlier filed a complaint before the Lokayukta.

“After hearing at some length, it appears that a similar matter being WP(C) No. 293 of 2019 (Kubon Sangma & Anr Vs State of Meghalaya & Ors) is pending and certain interim orders had been passed therein by the Division Bench of this Court. In view of the matter thereof, the learned counsels for the parties pray that the matter be placed before the Division Bench. Accordingly, list this matter before the Division Bench on 24.02.2020,” Justice HS Thangkhiew said in his order issued here.

Meanwhile, the AG for the petitioner also prays that he may be allowed to file an additional affidavit to supplement the petition to bring on record the relevant documents and the same was allowed.
