    SHILLONG: Congress MP from Shillong Vincent H Pala has left from New Delhi for San Franciso (USA) to bring home the mortal remains of Archbishop Dominic Jala to Shillong for a final burial.

    Sources informed that Pala took a flight on Monday night. The MP has also informed the Ambassador of India to USA Harsh Vardhan Shringla, that he is travelling to San Francisco and would arrive at California on Tuesday at 9.30 am by China Eastern MU 589.

    “We need your assistance and cooperation for speedy process of formalities, if possible as millions of Christians from Meghalaya and the North East are waiting for the body to arrive in India,” Pala said.

    Vardhan has assured to do whatever possible to facilitate the return of the body of Archbishop Jala, who died in a tragic car accident in California on October 10.
