    The Sub Divisional Magistrate, Sohra Civil Sub Division issued an order under Section 144 CrPC prohibiting the plying of overloaded trucks beyond 9 (nine) Metric Tonnes (MT) from Mawmluh to Mawlong via Mawshamok road.

    The order was necessitated after a report was received from the office of the Executive Engineer, PWD (Roads), Sohra Division, Sohra, stating that the said roads are being damaged due to the plying of heavily overloaded vehicles from Mawmluh to Mawlong via Mawshamok road, which is affecting the longevity of the roads.

    The order shall come into force from December 22 and until further notice. Violation will invite other relevant sections of the IPC.
