    Around 667 eligible inmates of the different prisons in the state have been vaccinated against the novel coronavirus so far, officials said on Monday.

    None of them has reported any adverse events, they said.

    Inspector General of Prison M Kharkrang informed that 367 out of 398 inmates in Shillong prison have been vaccinated against COVID-19, 180 of 188 inmates in Tura prison and 120 of 182 inmates in Jowai prison as on date.

    He said vaccination drive will start at Williamnagar prison on Tuesday while the process is yet to start for Nongpoh prison.
