Due to the unrelenting heavy rainfall in East Jaintia Hills District for the past many days, a major Landslide occurred near the Sonapur Tunnel along NH-6 around 2 am on Tuesday morning.

There has not been any reports of any injuries or damages to any vehicles.

However “THE ROAD NEAR THE TUNNEL HAS BEEN COMPLETELY BLOCKED”.

Police are reaching out to more 300 stranded vehicles by providing them with any assistance required. Efforts are already on the way to clear the road.

Commuters are advised to avoid comming through to this part of NH06 till the road has been cleared.
