Opposition Voice of the People Party (VPP) has demanded the state government to withdraw all political appointees in the various boards, commissions and bodies as they are “wastage of public resources”

Meghalaya Govt appointed four ex-MLAs as Co-chairman, vice/deputy chairman

In a letter to the chief minister Conrad K Sangma on Monday, VPP general secretary Ricky AJ Syngkon said, “…I urge you to withdraw all political appointees appointed by your government to various boards/commissions/bodies with immediate effect.”

He alleged that it is a known fact that these political appointees serve no public purpose except indulgence in unnecessary drainage and wastage of public resources.
