In pursuance to the order of Home (Political) Department dated 28th April, 2021, and in order to safeguard the population at large from an uncontrollable surge in COVID-19 cases in East Khasi Hills District, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills in an order issued on 30th April, 2021 has suspended operations of border haats and export points in East Khasi Hills District till the 10th of May.

According to the order, weekly markets will not operate as usual, but will be strictly regulated by the SDOs (C) and BDOs concerned to cater only to essential public requirements. BDOs will rope in Market Committees and COVID Management Committees to ensure awareness on COVID-19.

All COVID-19 preventive protocols of mask- wearing, social distancing and hand hygiene, etc should be strictly complied with by all concerned. (MIPR)
