    In its ongoing efforts to curb illegal infiltration and smuggling, BSF Meghalaya apprehended an illegal Bangladeshi national near the international border.

    On 3rd October 2024, a patrolling party from the 04 Battalion BSF apprehended Md Amdadul Haque, a Bangladeshi national from Narayanganj district, as he attempted to infiltrate into India.

    During the operation, Bangladeshi taka were recovered from his possession, and he was later handed over to Pynursla Police Station.

    A day earlier, on 2nd October 2024, the BSF apprehended five Bangladeshi nationals traveling in an auto-rickshaw from the Dalu side towards Purakhasia. The patrolling party noticed the auto-rickshaw halting nearby, and when the suspects attempted to flee, the vigilant troops successfully captured them.

    It was later revealed that these individuals had been working in a garment factory in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and intended to cross into Bangladesh illegally. They were handed over to Dalu Police Station, West Garo Hills.
