One person was arrested along with 10,000 Yaba tablets from Shillong on Wednesday.

Acting on a tip-off, the ANTF team detained a Renault Duster vehicle bearing registration number ML05 R 6828 at Sawlad Madanrting.

During a thorough search, the authorities recovered approximately 6,000 Yaba tablets, weighing 595.07 grams, from a bag inside the vehicle. The seized quantity is considered commercial, and the ANTF has taken swift action.

Salnang M Sangma, the owner of the bag containing the illicit substance, has been arrested in connection with the seizure.

During examination, Sangma revealed that the Yaba tablets belonged to a person identified as the owner of a hotel in Shillong.

Further investigation has led to the seizure of 4000 more Yaba.

A case has been registered, and the ANTF is working to identify the hotel owner and other potential individuals involved in the drug trafficking network.
