    The first death anniversary of the founder of U Mawphor and Highland Post, Readington M. Marwein was observed today at his residence in Mawiong Rim here.

    The programme was attended by members of Meghalaya Editors’ and Publishers’ Association (MEPA), members of Newspaper Hawkers and Vendors’ Association, family members of Late Marwein, staff members of U Mawphor and Highland Post, teachers of Mari Bon Marwein Memorial Secondary School, Umsning, friends and well-wishers.

    During the programme, the oldest newspaper hawker of the State, Devin Kharsyntiew was conferred the ‘Readington Memorial Award’ for his contribution in the field of circulation of newspapers since 1964.
