OIL wraps up Swachhata Pakhwada 2025 with grassroots push for cleanliness, health, and sustainability

Oil India Limited (OIL) marked Swachhata Pakhwada 2025 with a two-week campaign focused on cleanliness, environmental awareness, and community health, anchored at its Field Headquarters in Duliajan.
The observance, held from July 1 to 15, began with pledge-taking ceremonies across OIL offices and installations, reaffirming the company’s alignment with the Swachh Bharat Mission. What followed was a series of hands-on initiatives — from shramdaan (voluntary labour) and plantation drives to public awareness campaigns — designed to involve communities directly in the mission for a cleaner and healthier environment.
Youth participation played a central role, with government school students taking part in ‘Innovate to Elevate’ science model exhibitions, promoting ideas around sustainability and innovation. At ITI Lahowal, a parallel exhibition titled ‘Waste to Wealth’ showcased creative approaches to waste management and recycling.
Public health featured prominently in the campaign. OIL conducted health screening camps and hygiene awareness drives in remote villages across Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Tripura, helping address basic healthcare needs while promoting sanitation and preventive care.
In support of local infrastructure, the company donated garbage collection vehicles to the Moran Municipality Board and installed clean drinking water filters at ITI Lahowal and Tokoubaam Milon L.P. School in Uttar Somdar Gaon.
Street plays in public areas further amplified the message, highlighting the dangers of single-use plastics and poor waste management, while encouraging sustainable practices.
With its grassroots engagement and focus on long-term impact, OIL’s Swachhata Pakhwada campaign underlined its ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship, community well-being, and responsible corporate citizenship.
