    A delegation from the Nagaon Sacheton Nagarik Manch met with the District Commissioner of Nagaon, Narendra Kr. Shah, on Monday, to submit a memorandum addressing the current situation in the district.

    The delegation included prominent figures such as former MLAs Mujibur Rahman (senior and junior), retired teacher Fazlul Haque Maral, lawyer Nurul Amin, and social workers Sarkar Gias Uddin and Ikramul Huda.

    During the meeting, the delegates emphasized the need to strengthen communal harmony among various religious groups in the district. They also urged the District Commissioner to take firm action against drug traffickers and smugglers, highlighting concerns over the growing drug problem in the area. The memorandum aims to foster unity and ensure safety within the community.

    The delegation FURTHER urged the District Commissioner to ensure that prior discussions are held with relevant stakeholders before carrying out eviction drives in various parts of the district.
