North Garo Hills admin issues weather advisory amid adverse conditions

In view of the ongoing adverse weather conditions in North Garo Hills, the District Administration has urged residents to exercise caution and strictly adhere to safety advisories issued by the relevant authorities.
The public has been advised to plan travel schedules in line with weather updates from the Meteorological and Tourism Departments, and to avoid unnecessary travel—especially in hilly or remote areas susceptible to landslides and flash floods. People are also urged to stay indoors during thunderstorms, unplug electrical appliances, and refrain from using mobile phones during lightning strikes.
Outdoor recreational activities in tourist hotspots and open areas are to be avoided, while motorists are advised to follow safe driving practices due to poor visibility, slippery roads, and potential traffic diversions.
The Administration has strictly prohibited venturing into water bodies, including rivers, streams, and submerged paths. Parents and guardians are also requested to monitor children closely and prevent them from playing near water bodies, landslide-prone areas, and forested regions.
To raise awareness on landslide risks, the public is advised to report signs of soil movement, falling stones, or minor landslips, and to prepare for possible evacuation in high-risk zones.
