Nominations invited for Padma Awards

The Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District has informed that the Padma Awards namely; Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri will be announced on the occasion of the Republic Day, 2024.

The Awards seek to recognize ‘work of any distinction’ and are given for distinguished and exceptional achievements/services in all fields of disciplines such as Art, Literature and Education, Sports, Medicines, Social Work, Science and Engineering, Public Affairs, Civil Service, Trade and Industry etc. All persons without any distinction of race, occupation, position or sex are eligible for these Awards.

Intending individuals from East Khasi Hills District who desire their names to be recommended to the Government for the Award are requested to send their nominations to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong on or before 18^th August, 2023.
